Caltech maintains Passenger Lifts, Services & Goods LiftsDisabled Access Lifts and Stair Lifts throughout Scotland and Northern England and our engineers are strategically located to ensure our business can deliver a responsive 24 x 7 x 365 service.

Our field engineers are managed effectively from Caltech’s Head Office located in Dundee, Scotland and are supported from Caltech Facilities located in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Newcastle is planned for Q1 2013.

Great LEIA meeting yesterday in London, lots to discuss - lift standards/Brexit/ apprencticeships/project bank accounts/the new site safety handbook/ recent successful LiftEx event but probably the topic that was discussed in most depth was Health and Safety. Discussing our industry stats on reportable accidents and reflecting on the numbers. But also many discussions had on the recent coroners report sadly of a fatality that happened in a care home in Manchester. Coroner report questioning LOLER inspector qualifications, how there are no formal minimum standards to be a lift engineer + a host of other concerns. For us in the lift industry it brought the age old concern of a lack of supplementary tests being requested by LOLER inspection bodies. It’s great to have such a dedicated and hard working team plus friends in the industry! Currently we have a lift off in a care home who are desperate to get it back in operation, new drive and possibly motor needed. Our friends at Ikonic Lifts in Redditch had the exact one we needed so one of our guys volunteered to drive down this afternoon, pick parts up tomorrow morning and drive back up so our repair team can fit it!!
